Alumni Spotlight: Audrey Roetling
A GPHS Class of 2026 graduate and Ford Scholar reflects on her summer internship with the Grants Pass & Josephine County Chamber of Commerce.

Hello, I am Audrey Roetling, a GPHS Class of 2026 graduate and Ford Scholar. This fall, I will be attending the University of Oregon's Clark Honors College to study journalism, with plans to pursue law.
Through Project Youth+, I spent the summer interning with the Grants Pass & Josephine County Chamber of Commerce, gaining hands-on experience across three areas. In Government & Civic, I learned Roberts Rules of Order, the difference between city and county government, how lobbying influences legislation, and how to conduct municipal court feasibility research. In Business Development, I gained experience listing commercial properties, designing a business manual, promoting tourism in Grants Pass, and bringing issues to City Council. In Technology & Design, I worked with Adobe Illustrator, navigated business software, designed newsletters, and wrote press releases.
During the internship, I presented research on Municipal Courts, attended Government Affairs & Finance Committee meetings, toured a local radio station and watched Chamber Chatters live, attended a County Commissioner Meeting and a City Council Workshop, and helped set up and attended Concerts in the Park.
I am incredibly grateful to the Chamber for the opportunities and experiences I have gained this summer, and especially to PY+ for making this internship possible. Thank you!
