Whatever It Takes

Overcome barriers and stay on track toward graduation through individualized guidance and wraparound support.

Full details

WIT Advisors help students earn missing credits toward on-time graduation. Last school year, we helped students recover 32 credits.

The Whatever It Takes (WIT) program offers personalized mentoring and support to students at risk of disengagement, credit deficiencies, or delayed graduation. WIT Advisors work one-on-one with students to build personalized plans for academic and career success, support includes academic monitoring, mentoring, home visits, scholarships, internships, leadership development, and career exploration opportunities.

Students must be referred by school administrators or counselors. Eligible participants face challenges such as credit deficiencies, attendance issues, or minor behavioral concerns. The program's goal is to re-engage youth through consistent check-ins, incentives, and barrier removal.

Kylee and Jasmine

Whatever It Takes

Kylee and Jasmine, Whatever It Takes graduates from SOSA

Kylee and Jasmine each faced significant challenges that made staying engaged in school difficult, but neither gave up.

Kylee became a dependable member of the SOSA work crew and an active leader on the Student Council. Jasmine embraced every opportunity, working closely with her WIT Advisor to overcome barriers and complete her diploma.

With resilience, determination, and support from their WIT Advisor, Jessica, both young women proudly graduated from SOSA.

Community Resources

A first stop for families, not just students

Our Community Resource Specialist, Lili Vargas, provides individualized support to youth and families across Josephine, Jackson, and Southern Douglas Counties, helping stabilize basic needs like housing and food, connecting families to medical, behavioral health, financial, and legal services, and enrolling families in the Oregon Health Plan. She shares information about culturally and status-specific issues and advocates for families in the broader community.

Community Food Pantry

In partnership with the Josephine County Food Bank, our weekly Community Food Pantry is often a family’s first contact with Project Youth+, and, in our own words, “an entry-point for families to build trust with our organization.”
