We are thrilled to announce that Project Youth+ has been awarded two Workforce Readiness Grants through Future Ready Oregon, a state initiative established under Senate Bill 1545 in 2022, totaling over $1 million. These grants will let us expand training and education programs in the critical sectors of healthcare and technology, preparing our communities for a more equitable workforce.

The grants will fund new training programs designed around employer needs, with priority given to Oregon’s historically underserved and underrepresented communities. Our focus is on supporting adult learners, dislocated workers, and disconnected youth who need pathways into stable, well-paying jobs in high-demand fields.

“We are honored to receive these grants, which will let us continue our mission of building collaborative partnerships between employers, educational institutions, and community organizations,” said Tobin Mikels, Program Director of Career Build at Project Youth+. “By addressing the barriers to education and employment, we’re not only investing in individual futures, we’re strengthening Oregon’s overall economic competitiveness.”

With these grants, Project Youth+ will roll out targeted training programs that give participants the skills they need to thrive in today’s job market. The grants are a collaboration between SORIN, Rogue Valley Manor, and Pacific Healthcare Training. For more information on our workforce readiness programs, visit pyplus.org or call (541) 476-8146.
