College+ empowers participants to become resilient in the face of adversity, excel in academic coursework and participate in healthy activities, preparing them to succeed in higher education and family-wage careers.

Compassionate, trained advisors mentor middle school and high school students, monitoring their academic progress, and helping them determine what path they want to take toward college and career.

Federal funding supports the College+ TRiO Talent Search Program, which provides the same college and career preparation services but focuses on students from low-income households who will become the first college graduates in their family and who are academically on track for college.

All participants are served on-site at their schools. We provide:

  • An advisor to promote academic excellence and college readiness

  • College tours to public and private Oregon colleges and universities, including community colleges and trade schools

  • College awareness and readiness activities

  • Career awareness and exploration activities

  • Support for access to summer camps, STEM activities, and pre-college programs

  • Scholarships (starting in 6th grade)

  • Recreational outings

  • Financial education Incentives for good grades

  • Community service opportunities

  • Help with financial aid, college applications, and scholarship applications

College+ participants are more than twice as likely to enroll in a two- or four-year institution.

50%

of the students in our TRIO Talent Search Program that graduate and enroll in post-secondary education attain either an Associates or Bachelor’s degree within six years. (The national average for this population is 11%.)

They didn’t tell me what my passion was, but they showed me that I needed to take the time to figure it out for myself. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without them.
